MyDistrict Crime

• This tutorial will show you how to place a map centered around any given address with the last 40 crimes in We the People.

The Short Description

1. Log In. (top right corner of any page)
2. Click on your User Name in the top right corner to bring up your User Page.
3. Click the "Create" tab.
4. Under "Select boilerplate", select MyDistrict Crime and click Load.
5. Replace the line with the street address you want centered. (Note: Do not put Washington, D.C. after the address)
6. Click on "Save Page" at the bottom of the page. (Note: Make sure the ending "}}" are still there)

• If something somehow goes awry, copy the piece of Wikitext below onto your user page and follow the instructions starting after "Click Load".

Log In.

Click on your User Name in the top right corner to bring up your User Page.

Click the "Create" tab

Under "Select boilerplate", select MyDistrict Crime and click Load

Replace the line with the street address you want centered

• Note: DO NOT PUT Washington, D.C. after the address and DO NOT DELETE the }} (i.e., the curly brackets) that were already there at the end of the original 1600 Pennsylvania Address address
• Note: If you accidently delete the curly brackets, then restart with the following phrase to start over:

Click on "Save Page" at the bottom of the page.

Done.

You can go back to your user page by clicking on your name in the top right corner (now blue). Also, the map will always show the most recent crimes in the database.
